Lutheran World Relief accepts donations of “school kit” backpacks which they distribute around the globe to school-aged children (https://lwr.org/instructions). The St. John’s children’s Sunday school plans to assemble LWR backpacks on Sunday, September 27, 2020. We hope to make 100 bags this year. We need:
· 70-sheet notebooks (wide or college rule)
· 30-cm rulers (inches on one side and centimeters on the other)
· pencil sharpeners
· scissors (blunt or safety tips)
· 2.5-inch erasers
· #2 pencils with erasers (unsharpened)
· 16 or 24 count box of crayons
· ball point pens (black or blue, no gel-pens)
Please consider donating to this special cause. New items only are needed with no patriotic or religious symbols on them. You can buy a lot or just a few items or make a monetary donation that will allow us to purchase anything necessary to complete our kits. Donations can be left in the designated bin in the narthex or email office@stjohnphoenixville.org to schedule a time to drop them off. Items will be collected until Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
