Women’s Group

The Mary-Martha Circle of the Women of the ELCA is active at St. John’s.  Other groups of women occasionally come together for short-term projects and studies, too.

Mary Martha Circle
The mission of the Mary Martha Circle is to mobilize women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ.  As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.

We live our Mission by:

Serving in our Congregation
Leading worship
Coordinating and serving funeral luncheons
Remembering our shut-ins with cards and Christmas presents

Serving in our Community
Contributing to the
Good Samaritan Men’s Shelter
The Clinic
Camphill Village

Serving in our Synod and National Church
Giving Thank Offerings
Offering leadership
Partnering with the women of the Chester County Cluster

Serving in our World
Making health kits and school kits for Church World Service
Supporting Selian Lutheran and Arusha Lutheran Hospitals in Tanzania
Advocating for social justice

You are invited to join in praying, learning, giving, sharing, growing, eating, studying,
wondering, caring, loving, singing, listening, serving, worshiping, supporting and laughing.

The Mary Martha Circle meets each month from September through May on the fourth Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
