Lent begins with ashes and dust. On Ash Wednesday we are marked with ashes—a sign of our death and of our sorrow for sin. However the ashes trace a cross on our forehead, where the baptismal water first marked us with God’s grace. You are invited to worship at St. John’s on Ash Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. in the afternoon or at 7:30 p.m. in the evening. There will be an opportunity to receive ashes
