Lent begins with ashes and dust. On Ash Wednesday we are marked with ashes—a sign of our death and of our sorrow for sin. The ashes trace a cross on our forehead, where the baptismal water first marked us with God’s grace. You are invited to worship at St. John’s on Ash Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. in the afternoon or at 7:30 p.m. in the evening. Ashes will also be distributed at The Episcopal House on Wednesday morning, March 6th at 11 a.m. following Bible Study.
