Melissa Freilich, flute, and Vincent M. Ryan, organ, are “Doppelflöte,” specializing in flute and organ concerts that are not just heard but are experienced. Since 1998 they have performed together in numerous communities in the Philadelphia region, and in 2022 made their international debut in both the Castle Church and Town Church of Wittenberg, Germany.
Part of the “experience” will be the opportunity, through Orgelkids USA, for kids in the audience to actually build a working pipe organ which will be played as part of the concert. “Orgelkids makes the King of Instruments accessible. What is accessible is then lovable. To ensure a vibrant future for the pipe organ, we should capture the interest of the next generation when they are young, and then they will always have a place in their heart for the organ.”
