Women of the ELCA

WELCA will be decorating gift bags for our shut-ins and staff and making ornaments for the Angel Tree.  Bring along any special decorative items you like.  Decorating tools and supplies will be provided.  All women of St. John’s are invited–hope to see you there!

All Saints Sunday

Our beautiful All Saints celebration begins in the columbarium and a bagpiper will lead the congregation into the sanctuary.  Copper tags will be available for personal remembrances and will be hung in the columbarium trees after the service.  It is our practice to remember loved ones who have died since the previous All Saints’ Sunday…

WELCA will meet on Tuesday, September 27th at 10:30 a.m. in Eisenhower.  The Hadfields will be visiting with their therapy dogs.  The October meeting is on Tuesday, October 25th at 10:30 a.m. in Eisenhower to decorate gift bags for our shut-ins and staff and to make ornaments for the Angel Tree.

Celebration for Tom Snyder

Please plan to join us to celebrate Deacon Tom Snyder’s 30 years of ministry at St. John’s as our Director of Music.  During the worship service we will debut a new hymn “Word of God, Come Down on Earth.” It was commissioned by the musical friends; choirs, bells, instrumentalists, and the listeners at St John’s in grateful appreciation of Tom’s many years…

Trunk or Treat

Rally Day: Faith Formation Resumes, new High School Class Added

The first day of Faith Formation classes for children and adults will be September 18th. Rally Day celebrations for all children and adult classes will begin in the sanctuary. Lutheran World Relief Backpacks

Lutheran World Relief accepts donations of “school kit” backpacks which they distribute around the globe to school-aged children (https://lwr.org/instructions). The St. John’s children’s Sunday school plans to assemble LWR backpacks on Sunday, October 16, 2022.  We hope to make another 100 bags this year.
